Personality and team performance: implications for selecting successful product design teams

Abstract

This exploratory experimental study investigated the relationship between scores on the "Big Five" personality factors (Extraversion, Conscientiousness, Neuroticism, Agreeableness, and Openness to Experience) received by members of a design team and the team's subsequent performance and satisfaction. The study provided some interesting results from which "preliminary rules" for the selection of team members might be made.
