Abstract: |
This article presents a revision of the dual labor market theory by introducing subsystems based on full-time and part-time employment. Using Statistics Canada Survey of Union Membership data and dividing the primary and secondary markets into full-time and part-time subsystems, the author attempts to present that return on investment in human capital is different for full-time and part-time workers in each occupation and market segment. The resuits suggest the existence of subsystems in the dual labor market.
|
