Bounded Pseudo-Complete Locally Convex *-Algebras

Abstract

<p>We introduce a new class of locally convex algebras called BP*-algebras. They form a considerably larger class than that of MQ*-algebras which were introduced and studied by T. Husain and Rigelhoff. We discuss continuity of positive linear functionals on these algebras. We characterize extreme points of normalized positive functionals and obtain several results on representations of these algebras.</p>
