Abstract

A discussion of the supernatural in The Tempest, Hamlet and Macbeth in so far as it contributes to the dramatic quality of the plays. My concern comes to rest particularly on characterisation of Prospero, Hamlet and Macbeth and the extent to which this is dependent on various supernatural agencies. I also consider the main themes in each play as they are defined by the supernatural.
