Upper Triassic Eumorphotis and Meleagrinella (Bivalvia) from British Columbia

Abstract

Collections of the Aviculopectinids Eumorphotis and Meleagrinella from the Upper Triassic of British Columbia are described. Four species of Eumorphotis have previously been known only from Indo-China and one from Siberia. Five species of Eumorphotis and one of Meleagrinella are new. Phylogenetic relationships and affinities of the fauna are discussed. The present work is the first detailed study of these Aviculopectinids which are among the important biostratigraphic indices of the Triassic .
