(n, n', y) Reactions with Stable Light Nuclei in the Region Z-13 to 17

Abstract

This thesis describes the investigation of the Y-rays arising from the inelastic scattering of a fission produced neutron spectrum by stable light nuclei in the region 2 > 15 to 17. The high resolution of a Ge(Li) detector was employed to indicate some discrepancies with previously reported data for the decay schemes of the above mentioned nuclei. The correlation between the primary population values of the levels and their spin and parity assignments was also considered.
