The Labour Party and the CCF-NDP: A Comparative Study of Policies and Policy-making, 1945-1968

Abstract

<p>This thesis is a comparative study of some domestic policies (nationalisation, taxation, health services and housing) of the Labour Party and the CCF-NDP between 1945 and 1968. The aims of the study are to assess the extent to which these policies have changed, to examine the reasons why they have changed and why CCF-NDP policies have become less socialist more rapidly than the Labour Party's.</p>
