From Reconciliation to Responsiveness: Applying the Relativity Condition to Crown-Indigenous Relations in Canada

Abstract

A philosophical examination of the legal relationship between the Canadian government and Indigenous peoples. The author makes the argument here that the current legal relationship is, according to criteria developed by legal scholar Nicole Roughan, illegitimate and must be changed if the Canadian government is to achieve legitimacy.
