dc.description.abstract
Monthly median and annual mean values of optical depth and the ratio of diffuse to direct solar radiation for 1981-1983 were calculated using integrated values of global and diffuse radiation and calculations of precipitable water, under cloudless conditions. Results indicate that El Chichon's volcanic dust cloud has affected turbidity over southern Ontario. This is reflected in an increase in optical depth and the ratio of diffuse to direct solar radiation.
en_US
