Abstract
A geographical thesis is concerned with the areal relationships
and regional personality. This thesis is an attempt to discover the
areal relationships and regional personality of Moultn and Sher—
brooke Townships, Haldimand County, Ontario. It is concerned with
the history of men upon this extent of land and the changes wrought
by them in their fight for survival. A attempt has also been made to
show what relationships exist between those who live within the area
and hose who live outside it. Since the study of geography in volves many things, it is necessary to look at each individually
and then combine the separate conclusions of this research into a
summary and conclusion for the whole. This, too, has been attempted.
Several liberties of expression have been taken in the text to
make it more easily read. For example, the word 'Township' has
often been omitted after the words Moulton and Sherbrooke to prevent
the continuous repetition of the word.
The writer was employed by the Community Planning Branch
of the Department of Planning and Development, Ontario and thanks
are again expressed for the use of facilities. The field
work was done between September 1958 and January 1959. All maps,
graphs, and tables are labelled "Figures" and photographs are referred to as "Illustrations." Unless otherwise marked the scale on
all maps is two miles to the inch.
