Physics Aspects of a CANDU Nucler Reactor

Abstract

<p>Certain scientific-technical aspects of the CANDU nuclear energy system are discussed. Major emphasis is placed on the fuel cycle, thorium breeding, heat and mass transfer, safety, and environmental impact.</p> <p>The analysis is based on a critical review of the published literature. Both qualitative and quantitative aspects are discussed and subsequently summarized.</p>
