dc.description.abstract
The production of single strand breaks by ionizing radiation (ϒ-rays) in mammalian cell DNA was studied by a modified method of alkaline sucrose gradients. The effect of molecular oxygen and 2,4-dinitrophenol on the yield of single strand breaks was examined and the results are reported in this thesis. Also, subsequent rejoining of single strand breaks was studied.
en_US
