Description: |
iii, 66 leaves ; Includes bibliographical references. ; Cover title.

The writer would like to first of all thank the many executives in Tokyo who gave both their time and frank assessment of the problems faced by their organizations. The commercial staff at the Canadian Embassy, and in particular Mr. Peter Campbell, were extremely helpful in providing both advice and corporate introductions. In this regard, the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan also provided many valuable introductions to the American business community. I would also like to express my appreciation to the administrations of the Institute for International Studies and Training in Japan and McMaster University for providing me with the opportunity to be in Japan for the four months during which this study was undertaken. The financial support provided by the Department of Industry , Trade and Commerce of the Canadian government and the Joint-Center on Modem East Asia in Toronto made the project possible .
|
