dc.description.abstract | Methods have been adapted for the extraction and classifi cation of sporesj hystrichosphaerids and other plant microfossils from five Devonian marine and son-marine sedimentary formations of Canada. Dominant genera and spocies have bean recorded, and com parisons have been made on an intensive basis with other micro fossils including those from tho Russian Platform. From the results, evaluations have been made that facil itate both botanical and stratigraphical conclusions. The first basic for a now conception of complexity within the flora of the Canadian Devonian has been established. The appropriateness of plant microfossils for conation purposes has been demonstrated for Devonian rocks, some of which contain no other fossil evidence. | en_US |
