Abstract: | “Beyond the Bell” is an after-school and summer academic program with educational components focused on literacy and numeracy skills. Program staff regularly assess the academic performance of youth enrolled in “Beyond the Bell,” but there are concerns about the continued use of assessment tools, their ease of use, and effectiveness. Therefore, we aimed to review evidence-based tools to assess youth’s literacy and numeracy skills and compare these alternative tools on several criteria. |
