dc.description.abstract
This paper is primarily a comparison of two different societies with respect to how they view health and disease and the central role that religion plays in each culture's conceptualization and treatment of illness.

In the Introduction , Part 1, the objectives of the study, the methodology, and the theoretical framework are presented. Part II, deals with the outline of the Christian Science Church and Ojibwa Religion. Part III, focuses in on the Christian Science Church, its theory of disease, and mode of treating disease; Part IV does the same for Ojibwa Religion. Part V concerns itself with the comparison per se, while Part VI summarizes the salient features of the comparison as well as the shortcomings of the study. In general, it is found that without precise terms of analysis, the comparison of these two groups is not very fruitful.
en_US
