Abstract: |
Three electronic absorption systems of thiocarbonylchlorofluoride have been observed in the visible and ultraviolet regions and have been assigned to the electronic transitions a⁻³A" ← X⁻¹A', A⁻¹A" ← X⁻¹A' and B⁻¹A' ← X⁻¹lA'. A vibrational analysis of these system has been carried out. The geometry of thiocarbonylchlorofluoride in the upper states a⁻³A", A⁻¹A" and B¹A' has been found to be nonplanar, while he molecule is planar in the ground state. A vibrational analysis of the visible absorption system (a⁻³A₂ ← X⁻¹A) of thiocarbonyldtchloride has been carried out and the excited state geometry of the molecule is found to be nonplanar with an out-of-plane angle of about 33°.
|
