Abstract: | An investigation was made of the distribution of lithium in the rocks and min erals of the Preissac, Lamotte and Lacorne batho liths of north-western Quebec. Spectrochemical methods were used; and for this purpose two work ing curves were constructed using the following an alysis lines: Li 3232, Li 6103 send Li 6707. The analysis results show that lithium concentrates in ferro-magnesian minerals, especially biotite; the feldspars and quartz being low in lithium content and hornblende being intermediate. Averages for the lithium content in the various rocks are as follows: amphibolite (lithium not detected); hornblende mon zonite, 7 p.p.m.; granodiorite, 53 p.p.m.; granite 153 p.p.m |
