Abstract: This research addresses the knowledge gap regarding the sufficiency of early childhood education graduates to meet the demands of Canada's new $10-a-day child care system. By analyzing data from the Education and Labour Market Longitudinal Linkage Platform, the study provides a comparative analysis across provinces regarding labour market trends of early childhood educators and highlights the shortfall in qualified educators. These insights underscore the need for strategic investments in educator training and compensation to achieve the ambitious child care targets.
