Abstract: The research presented in this thesis concerns the diel activity rhythm of the meadow vole, Microtus Pennsylvanicus pennsylvanicus Ord, as shown under laboratory conditions. In the course of the investigations a general survey was made of rhythmic behaviour in the animal kingdom.
