Citation: Bandler, John W., “A career in research and academia: perspectives from personal experiences,” Panel presentation, IEEE MTT-S Young Professionals Workshop on Modeling and Optimization for Active Devices, October 25, 2022.
Abstract: Bandler speaks on creativity, cooperation, and conflict, including ethics, risk, failure, experts’ agendas, resisting secrecy, recognizing your champions and the successes of others. As examples, he indicates milestones in his own career and touches on his vision of cognition-driven design and automating the expert’s mysterious “feel” for a problem.
Description: Slides from a presentation given by Bandler as part of the IEEE MTT-S Young Professionals Workshop on Modeling and Optimization for Active Devices, co-chaired by Gian Piero Gibiino and Justin King. The workshop was delivered via Zoom from Dublin, Ireland on October 25, 2022. Bandler’s focus was on career advice for young professionals.
