dc.description.abstract | Why aren’t webinars effective? You tell us! For both the intended audience and presenters, there is a disconnect between what presenters want to get across and audience expectations. Session opens with a lighting round on what WEBINARS are, in terms of professional development, scholarly communications and learning opportunities. Next, we touch briefly on best practices that improve audience satisfaction and engagement. We conclude with an open discussion and brain-storming exercise on using descriptive language to close the gap between expectations and perceived value. Information collected at the workshop will be used to inform a grassroots discussion paper on developing a proposed descriptive language standard for webinars. Outcomes: – What webinars can be? – Brainstorm ideas on how to bridge the gap between expectations and perceived value. – Contribute towards a grassroots working discussion paper on descriptive language standards for webinars. | en_US |
