Abstract: |
The solution of Bethe-Goldstone equation for finite nuclei is studied. Techniques of Nuclear Matter calculations are applied. A formalism is proposed to treat the low-lying discrete intermediate states. A shell-model calculation ie then done with reduced matrix elements thus obtained and spectra obtained for O18 and F18 are compared with experiment. It is shown that the inclusion of the low-lying discrete states is significant.
|
