| Abstract: | <p>Observations on the geological environment of formation and data concerning the mineralogy, petrography and chemistry of lacustrine ferromanganese concretions are presented. Implications of these data with respect to concretion formation are discussed, and a model for concretion genesis is suggested.</p> |
