The Design and Implementation of a Multiprogramming Operating System

Abstract

<p>A multiprogramming operating system (MOS) which is useful in operating systems education and research is designed and implemented in this project. The project includes the simulation of a hypothetical machine on a host computer system, and the design and implementation of a MOS for the simulated computer. A large number of compute-bound, balanced, and I/O-bound sample jobs have been created and run on the simulated system. Statistics are collected to measure the performance of the MOS.</p>
