Title: A Study of the (n,n'y) Reaction Using Fission Neutron, Author: Lionel W. Nichol, Location: Thodeen_US
dc.description.abstract
The total cross section of the (n, n'Y) reaction for each level of various nuclides (11B, 14N, 19F, 23Na, 27Al, 28Si, 31P, and 40Ca) was studied using a fission source of neutrons. The gamma ray spectra were obtained using a Ge (Li)-NaI annulus multlple spectrometer system. A model based on the Hauser Feshbach formalism was used to predict spins and parities of various levels. A model was derived to explain Doppler broadening effects and was used to measure stopping powers of various media and lifetimes of several states in 19F.
en_US
