Advisor: Burghardt, A. F.
Department: Geography
Publication Date: Oct-1964
Abstract: An examination was made of certain historical features relevant to the understanding of the Central Business District as it is today. The present Central Business District was delimited as a geographical region, and its general properties briefly surveyed. The land use features within the Central Business District were examined to reveal significant regional differences, and these differences were explained. The frame region surrounding the Central Business District was surveyed, and its land use associations noted. Finally, access to the Central Business District and the population relationships of the district were briefly examined.
