dc.description.abstract
This thesis explores the phenomenological characteristics of Śaṅkarācārya's Advaita philosophy, using two minor works attributed to him by tradition, namely, Vivekacūḍāmaṇi and Aparokṣānubhūti. An attempt is made to find parallels in the major commentaries of Śaṅkarācārya, such as the Brahma Sūtra Bhāsya, the Bhagvad-Gīta Bhāsya, and commentaries on the ten or eleven Upanisads. The Transcendental Phenomenology of Edmund Husserl is used as the basic model of comparison.
en_US
