Abstract
<p>This thesis explores Mead's thought from his social psychology through his cosmology. It argues that Mead felt compelled to introduce the speculative principles of sociality and temporality into his social psychology in order to do full justice to the experience of the individual. In so doing he developed a radical theory of the self.</p>
