dc.description.abstract<p>Previous considerations of Mircea Eliade have not dealt fundamentally with the important presrlpposition regarding the concept of 'mythic consciousness' which underlies his writings. After clearly differentiating the thought of Eliade from that, of psychologist Carl Jung, a discussion of Eliade's writings on Yoga follows. The phrase 'mythic consciousness' is shown to be' less than satisfactory in dealing with this presupposition in preference to Eliade's own term, the 'transconscious.'</p>en_US
