Abstract: |
This thesis examines the plays of Tennyson in the context of his entire canon. It attempts to show that the plays are important in determining what is truly Tennysonian by showing their place in Tennyson's fundamental concern with retreat and involvement, and in his search for an appropriate dramatic voice in his work.
|
