Abstract:
A study of Voltairer's attitude towards Protestantism in France as reflected in La Henriade (1723), the Siècle de Louis XIV (1751), the Essai sur les moeurs et l'esprit des nations (1756), and in his involvement in-the Calas Case (1762- 1765). As these works and the last event span a large part of Voltaire's life, they will allow us to discover both his constant feelings towards Protestantism and new influence upon his thinking.
